School works with 'Phoenix' childcare - some children 'dropped' at 7.30am for 'morning club' at Newhall then brought to school - after school collected and to Moira Community Centre for childcare till 6.30pm. Some parents also use 'Hilltop Nursery' and 'Albert Village Nursery' as well as local childminders.
Variety of clubs organized by staff on voluntary basis, covering sports, music, environmental issues and choir. Rugby, football, cross country, quick cricket and gymnastics.
School work with Stephenson College for training parents to teach their children basic skills. Annual curriculum evening for parents, this is also attended by outside providers i.e. Phoenix Childcare, Library, school nurse, etc. Home visits for new children attending school.
School works closely with agencies such as Social Services, Educational Psychologist, Student Support, YISP, SENA, Westfield House, School Nurse as appropriate. School familiar with CAF system and multi-agency forum.
School has close links with parish church and share civic services and harvest festivals. School has excellent playing field which has potential for community use.
