Excellent links with our Under 5s Nursery on our site. Breakfast facilities available in our Youth Centre

Active Parent Teacher Association. Parents regularly involved in information sessions at school. School organised a very successful, well attended, evening course for parents, Living with Teens(Riding the Storm) run by a Relate Counsellor.

School has excellent links with Specialist Services for those students who require additional support. We employ a Relate Counsellor who spends one day a week in school offering wellbeing and emotional support for students. Our school nurse has a drop in lunch time session for students who require support. School has access to the local Multi Agency Forum through the CAF system offering additional assistance for students.

Our school is actively involved in the community, college is used every evening for various adult clubs, local sports clubs and organisations.

Open Door is a confidential counselling service funded by extended schools based at Ashby School. Open Door provides support for young people in coping with issues that affect school life, family relationships and their general health and well being. As part of the Extended Services offer of parenting support, Ashby Family of Schools now employ a Parent Support Adviser (PSA)

Our Parent Support Adviser is Michelle White who will provide a link between parents and schools. Michelle can offer early intervention, preventative support, guidance and advice to families whose children may be experiencing difficulties or other issues at school. Michelle will work with school in partnership with parents, carers and other agencies to improve the outcomes for individual children. Wall of Activities

Art Club Boards up in newly decorated dining room

Students returned from half term break to find the dining room had been brilliantly decorated in fresh light colours, students art boards were hung on the wall, the first students to see the transformation were members of the Breakfast Club on the first day back.

Shakespeare performances at Venture Theatre

Our students enjoyed a Shakespeare Day and had a great time performing at the Venture Theatre. The morning was spent in school rehearsing five ten minute versions of Shakespeare plays which they later performed on stage, everyone involved had a taste of a real theatre and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

UKELE - STRING UP - SING UP - SESSION

Our students enjoyed a great taster session with Mark Ferraby an experienced Ukele Player. After only one hour students were picking up chords then were able to strum and singing along to popular tunes. Mark returns to college in May for a full day session. Childcare Course very popular

Students are given the opportunity to gain work experience in the Ivanhoe Under 5s Nursery . Ivanhoe students help in the Nursery under the supervision of staff, a great experience for everyone involved. Pictured below are some students with the little ones.

Fire Fit visit Ivanhoe Under 5s

The children in the IVANHOE Nursery had a treat when the Fire Engine and the Fire Fighters turned up. The children had an enjoyable time listening to Fire Safety Messages and taking part in games. See pictures below

jSchool Orchestras Combine

A fantastic concert was staged where the orchestras of Ivanhoe combined with Ashby School and Ibstock College and four primary school choirs to perform themes from THE MOVIES. At one stage over one hundre.d students were on stage

Family of Schools visit Ivanhoe Science Dept.

Over three days pupils from local Primary Schools visited Ivanhoe College to take part in hands on scientific experiments and activities with Ivanhoe Students. A great success and valuable experience for everyone involved.
