Relate have a family liaison counsellor funded by extended schools who is available to work with families from this school who have issues that may impact on children. As part of the Extended Services offer of parenting support, Ashby Family of Schools now employ a Parent Support Adviser (PSA)
Our Parent Support Adviser is Michelle White who will provide a link between parents and schools. Michelle can offer early intervention, preventative support, guidance and advice to families whose children may be experiencing difficulties or other issues at school. Michelle will work with school in partnership with parents, carers and other agencies to improve the outcomes for individual children. If you feel that your family may benefit from the services of the Parent Support Adviser or you simply want to find out more information please contact your school.

Reception Class Outdoor Play Equipment
Our Reception Class has received new outdoor play equipment from our Locality Partnership Group through Extended Schools. Pictured below are some of the children playing with this equipment.
Parents Enjoy I.T. Sessions
Our computer sessions for Parents have proved so popular that we have had to run two courses on different days. The aim of the course is to make parents more aware of developments in I.T. and as a result are able to support their children in their work.
Garden Project
Work has begun on our school garden project, the ground has been cleared, new grass laid, safety railings installed and four lovely raised beds have been built, the children eagerly await the arrival of the top soil so they can begin planting the Spring Flowers. Watch this space.
Choir sings at A NIGHT AT THE MOVIES CONCERT
Ashby School organised a concert at Ivanhoe College in which our choir took part. The combined orchestras of Ashby School, Ivanoe and Ibstock performed with four primary school choirs to delight the packed audience with themes from the Movies. A great experience for our students.
Warning Zone Visits School
The Warning Zone Team visited our school and spent a morning with our Year 6 class, the children thoroughly enjoyed the safety sessions and activities.
HANDS ON SCIENCE WORKSHOPS
Our Year 6 children enjoyed their visits to Ivanhoe College for the after school Hands on Science Workshops. A great fun and interactive way to learn about science.
