Parents use local Child Minders or Private Providers. After school childcare facility provided by Hunnypot on school site. For more information go to the Home Page on this website and click the Childcare box for information on all childcare providers from the Family Information Service. School operates a Walking Bus to and from Leicester Road.

School has regular information sessions for Parents. School has a very active Parents Teachers Association. Parents have access to Fun and Families course

School has excellent links with specialist services i.e. Educational Psychologist, Speech Therapy etc for children who need support. School has access to a referral system through the Ashby Family of Schools agreement with Relate for family liaison support. School has access to the local CAF Multi Agency Forum for children who need extra support.

School is home to Rainbows and Brownies and is the venue for a local Slimming Club. School has an agreement with local Church for car parking facilities.

Relate have a family liaison counsellor funded by extended schools who is available to work with families from this school who have issues that may impact on children. As part of the Extended Services offer of parenting support, Ashby Family of Schools now employ a Parent Support Adviser (PSA)

Our Parent Support Adviser is Michelle White who will provide a link between parents and schools. Michelle can offer early intervention, preventative support, guidance and advice to families whose children may be experiencing difficulties or other issues at school. Michelle will work with school in partnership with parents, carers and other agencies to improve the outcomes for individual children. Wall of Activities

5 Pupils join the Ivanhoe orchestra

Some of our musicians have joined the Ivanhoe orchestra for the summer term. They joined 9 other children from local primary schools at weekly rehearsals after school and will play at the end of year concert at Ivanhoe.

Fire Fit Safety Visit

Our children took part in a very enjoyable safety and fitness session with local Fire Officers. The children learned all about Fire Safety, Smoke Alarms, Car Safety and Personal Safety during an action packed fitness session learning Fire Safety Drills which involved an assault course, space hoppers, all performed to the sound of the latest pop chart hits. A great experience for everyone.

London visit

Our Year 5 and 6 children enjoyed a day in London. After a picnic lunch in Trafalgar Square, they took part in workshops at The National Portrait Gallery before tea at The Rainforest Cafe. The children enjoyed the long day and learned a great deal, many being complimented on the work they produced.

Tri Golf Festival at Ashby School

Some of our children took part in a fun Tri Golf Festival at Ashby School. Over the course of two days over 100 children from local Primary Schools took part. The event was organised by our Sports Partnership and our children were assisted and supervised on the day by students from Ivanhoe and Ashby School. A lot of fun was had and some good golfers were discovered.

Students visit Ivanhoe for Science Day

Our students really enjoyed their experience at Ivanhoe working with Ivanhoe Students on interactive science sessions. Pictured below are some of the students who took part.

NIGHT AT THE MOVIES CONCERT AT IVANHOE

Ashby School organised a joint concert at Ivanhoe College where four primary school choirs joined the orchestras of Ashby School, Ivanhoe and Ibstock to perform themes from the movies. A great experience for our students.
