Our parents use local Ofsted Registered Child Minders and Private Childcare Providers. For more information go to the Home Page of this website and click on the Childcare Box for more information from the Leicestershire Family Information Service. School operates a walking bus to and from school.

School has an active P.T.F.A. who organise fund raising events. Visits are arranged to the home of children who are starting at school.

School has excellent links with Specialist Services for those children who may need additional support. School has access to a Family Liaison Support Worker through the agreement with the Ashby Family of School and Relate Leicestershire. School has access to the local Multi Agency Forum through the CAF procedure for children who may require additional support.

School is actively involved in the life of the village, children have been planting bulbs and trees in the village. Loros Coffee Mornings are held at school. We have strong links to the local church. Both the Parish Council and Womens Institute have meetings at school.

Relate have a family liaison counsellor funded by extended schools who is available to work with families from this school who have issues that may impact on children. As part of the Extended Services offer of parenting support, Ashby Family of Schools now employ a Parent Support Adviser (PSA)

Our Parent Support Adviser is Michelle White who will provide a link between parents and schools. Michelle can offer early intervention, preventative support, guidance and advice to families whose children may be experiencing difficulties or other issues at school. Michelle will work with school in partnership with parents, carers and other agencies to improve the outcomes for individual children. Wall of Activities

Reception class gets new outdoor play equipment

Our reception class through Extended Services has received funding from the Locality Partnership Group to purchase new equipment for the children.

Warning Zone on the Road

Our Year 6 children enjoyed their visit to Griffydam School to take part in the Warning Zone Safety Road Show. The children spent the morning learning and making decisions about good life choices.

Garden Club

We had a great start to our after school Garden Club sessions. We had 19 people turn up, it was a joy to see adults and children getting stuck in together planting. All the hard work during the holidays seems to have paid off. Pictured below are our Garden Club Members.
